Carol Whitworth | Executive Director, Sunshine Acres Childrens Home, Mesa, Arizona. Carol serves as Treasurer of NACCFA, and is the daughter of Reverend James and Vera Dingman, who founded Sunshine Acres Children's Home in 1954. She started her work with Sunshine Acres in 1960 as a houseparent with her husband, Jack, and then became Sunshine Acre's Executive Director 20 years later in 1980. Carol brings a wealth of knowledge to the board in her understanding of the care needed by kids. Her endurance in her pursuit providing God's best for all those in her care is reflected in her smile, her program, and her love for all those around her. She is a recipient of the Outstanding Professional, Mesa Community Gila Butte Award, which she received in 1985. | |

Kay Ekstrom | Founding
President and CEO, Christian Family Care Agency, Phoenix, Arizona. Kay
began her career in child welfare as a foster parent for babies, birthmothers,
primary age children and teens. Early on, Kay became an advocate
not only for the children in her immediate care, but for several children
caught in the foster care system. Kay served in several capacities
where lobbying was her primary responsibility and she was the author and
lobbyist for many child welfare laws in Arizona. Kay served as the
Chair for the Western Region of the Child Welfare League of America and
is one of the founding members of NACCFA. She has served on many
local and national advisory committees. She and her husband, Chuck,
have seven children and eight grandchildren. |

Ken Withrow | Executive
Director, Evangelical Child and Family Agency, Wheaton, Illinois.
Ken began working in the field of human services in 1971 when he served
as a house director and staff supervisor in to residential treatment centers
for emotionally disturbed children in the Chicago area. In 1976
Ken became a caseworker at the Evangelical Child and Family Agency.
Over the years, he has worked in the areas of adoption, foster care, individual
and family counseling, and alcohol and drug abuse treatment. Ken's
educational and professional background includes a Master's Degree in
Social Work from the University of Illinois. He is a Licensed Clinical
Social Worker and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers.
He is also a State of Illinois Certified Addictions Counselor.
He became the Executive Director of ECFA in 1991. Ken and his wife,
Claire, have two daughters, Beth and Stephanie, and his family attends

Nancy Hungerford | Nancy Park Hungerford is the Executive Director of the Natchez Children's Home in Natchez, Mississippi. The Home was founded in 1816 by a group of Christian women responding to the many children left orphaned in the territory by Indian wars and a yellow fever epidemic. Today’s residents are victims of poverty, divorce, substance abuse and emotional and physical neglect but the mission of “Saving Lives, One Child at a Time” has continued for almost two centuries. Nancy has served in almost every capacity in residential child care since the late l970’s and currently sits on the board of the Mississippi Association of Child Care Agencies, the Mississippi Center for Nonprofits, and numerous local, civic and church groups. She is the mother of three grown children. | |
