He served as a house parent and a staff supervisor in two residential treatment centers for emotionally disturbed children in the Chicago area. In 1976, Ken became a caseworker at the Evangelical Child & Family Agency. Over the years, he has worked in the fields of adoption, foster care, intact family services, individual and family counseling, and alcohol and drug abuse treatment. Ken's educational and professional background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a State of Illinois Certified Addictions Counselor. Currently, he serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Christian Child and Family Agencies. Ken became Executive Director of ECFA in 1991. He and his wife, Claire, have two daughters, Beth and Stephanie, and two grandchildren. He attends Lombard Gospel Chapel in Lombard, Illinois.
